Where do you live (City, State, or Country)?
Los Angeles, but Chatsworth to be more specific, in the great state of California in the United States.
 
Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel?
My inspiration came from the study of pre-christian faith and how the amalgamation of those with Christianity created modern beliefs. And perhaps a reminder of what has been lost or forgotten.
I studied theatre in college and then did stage professionally in Washington D.C. A childhood friend was with The William Morris Agency in New York, so they had no interest in a D.C. Actor but they asked me if I could write. So I wrote my first screenplay and they liked it. And so my odyssey began.
 
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN?
The first draft took about a week of intense writing but I usually formulate the story in my head and making notes of where I want to go with the story. Kind of like planning a trip and how long it will take to get somewhere. So yes, I just start with FADE IN.
 
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer?
As an artist you hope to inspire, provide hope. In other words get produced and see what kind of impact that has.
 
Which film or television writers inspire you? Why
I love creative people, good art always lifts my heart. The insight into the human condition that great writers provide is sometimes the best way for us to better understand how we relate to one another. Saying who my favorite is would be like having to name a favorite Beatles song. It would take a few pages.
 
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show?
I love the 1970 film version of “Scrooge”. But I have also watched “Excalibur”, “High Plains Drifter” and “Braveheart” more times than I can count.
 
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have?
Do you have a strong sense that this is something you should be doing? Then you probably should be. Watch listen and learn. The more you know, the more fuel you have for your imagination. Patience with yourself and the process, along with perseverance to get your story complete.
 
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about?
I have a Christmas screenplay that I have grown fond of that still needs work. Also a sequel to “The Bifrost Forest”, as well as another horror story based on ancient beliefs of the druids and the Norse. Plus I have comedy based around King Arthur.
