Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel?
Two sources: Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio and Walt Disney’s  Pinocchio. Not a novelist  or short story writer.

How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN?
Time to Write: Three months to write the first draft and start entering  it in competitions (2021). Then learning the special and essential art of continuous 24/7 rewriting.

The Writing Process: No white board, no index cards, a few outlines. First, I have to mentally see the screenplay in my mind  — a vision of it in its entirety — even before I write the first scene and then I have to watch each character growing or evolving emotionally or both. This requires some outlining. Some characters grow old. Others grow up.; others get stuck. In Black Pinocchio Vinnie and Urine Face remain stuck; Geppetto grows old; Pinocchio grows up magically — from being a six year old African oak robot to being a fourteen year robot teenager and finally to being a human.

What is your ultimate ambition as a writer?
My ultimate ambition is not an ambition at all but an aim: to demonstrate in my screenplays that following the money is not always, if ever, the best path for a writer to take. There is another path based on portraying characters who are honest, have traces of goodness,  are courageous and willing to treat others fairly the way they want to be treated.

Which film or television writers inspire you? Why?
Mehmet Bozdağ, Turkish screenwriter and creator of Yunus Emre.  Bozdağ shows us how to create characters with a spiritual life, men and women who are making efforts to practice this nova vita down to its smallest detail.

Roots from Alex Haley who wrote the novel and a team of screen play directors performed a mission impossible together  (Marvin J. Chomsky, John Erman, David Greene and Gilbert Moses) I have immense admiration and respect for all of them but especially for Mr. Haley who weighed in to perform a difficult task.

What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have?
Don't believe your negative imaginary thoughts that you  really don't know what you're doing and even if you do know,  there are other screenwriters so much better than you. Don't believe those thoughts. They are poisonous and crippling.

What else are you working on that the world needs to know about?
Three more screenplays. In order of being ready to cast, film and enter competitions for  filming: Abraham Lincoln’s Oratorio; (90 percent ready); Margaret and the Magician (75 percent ready); Sleepyhead: A Slovenian Fairytale (40 percent ready)
