Where do you live (City, State, or Country)?       
Los Angeles

Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel?
We both had independently discovered the stories of these women from World War II and they became our historical soul sisters.  We wanted to honor them and share their lives and sacrifice to provide real female role models for the young women of today.  Something that we didn’t have when we were growing up.
We felt that television was the best medium to share these stories and gain a wider audience, so we chose to write a script rather than a short story or novel.
 
How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN?
Between research and writing, it was about three years.  We adopted an unconventional process courtesy of the pandemic and were forced to do most our writing sessions over Zoom.  During that time, we outlined the eight-episode series and from there, wrote the full pilot script. 
 
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer?
We’re storytellers.  Our ultimate ambition is to continue doing that for as long as humanly possible.

Which film or television writers inspire you? Why?
That’s a hard question, we could give you an endless list.
For film; writers like Billy Wilder, Frank Capra, Lawrence Kasden, Quentin Tarantino, Greta Gerwig, Emma Thompson, and Emerald Fennel
For TV; writers like Vince Gilligan, Craig Mazin, David Benoff & DB Weiss, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Sally Wainwright, and Aaron Sorkin
They all have such unique perspectives on the human condition.
 
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show?
Both Lynda & Tara favorite TV shows: 
Breaking Bad (drama) – Friends (comedy)

Lynda for Film:  
Schindler’s List (drama) / The Italian Job 1961 version (comedy)
 
Tara for Film:
The Color Purple (drama) / Private Benjamin (comedy)
 
What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? 
Don’t write to win a contest, write the story that you love and have to tell. 
 
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about?
Several projects, both feature and TV, in different phases but nothing we can share right now.  But…watch this space.
