Where do you live (City, State, or Country)
Poughkeepsie, New York

Your script stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your story and why did you write a script instead of a short story or a novel?
I grew up in Jamaica. As a young lad, I would find myself on various adventures; on one of those adventures, I found a superhero comic and instantly became addicted to the stories. Later, throughout my life experience, I've met some intriguing people, experienced some wild events, and later worked with Kids With Autism. So all these highlights from my life experiences lay the foundation for my inspiration which I believe is ideal for a feature.

How long did it take you to write your script...and what is your writing process? Do you outline...use index cards...white board...or just start with FADE IN?
It took me longer than I expected because I never understood the science behind screenwriting. So I had to stop writing, take a college screenwriting course, and return to the drawing board, and three years later, I finally completed The Odd Son. My writing process is a bit unorthodox. I usually start with my logline and then write the story fleshing out the characters and plot. Once I complete my story, I divide it into three Acts, 1, 2, and 3...and, lastly, I start writing.

What is your ultimate ambition as a writer?
To be actively working in the industry and developing my writing skills.

Which film or television series inspires you?
Hustle and Flow becsause it demonstrates shows that the underdog has the potential to win.

What advice do you have for writers hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have?
Please don't walk in thinking you know everything. Buy the books, take a course, and watch a webinar. Write, and write again.

What else are you working on that the world needs to know about?
I am currently working on Dark Reflections. It's a SCI-Fi piece about a reclusive priest coming to a small town to find peace and solace, but life for the small towers turns upside down when his secrets are uncovered.
